Store Suspension Fix Pack · Guide
Why does a Shopify store get a Merchant Center misrepresentation suspension, and what should I fix?
Shopify stores are usually suspended for the same reasons as any store: missing business identity, thin or generic policy pages, contact details that are only a form, or prices and shipping times that differ from the product feed. Many themes and default setups leave these gaps in place, so the fix is mostly about filling in and publishing real business details. Make the changes on the live store, check them as a visitor, then request a review in Merchant Center.
What to check on a Shopify store, step by step
- Fill in your store policies. In the Shopify admin, open Settings, then Policies, and write a refund policy, shipping policy, privacy policy and terms that describe how your business actually works. If you turn on an automated policy, review the generated text and edit it so the return window, costs and timelines are your real ones.
- Make the policies easy to find. Add links to the refund, shipping, privacy and terms pages in the footer menu so they appear on every page, including product pages.
- Publish real contact details. The default contact page is often just a form. Add your business name, full address and a phone number or email address to the page text and to the footer.
- Write a real About page. Say who runs the business, where it is based and what it sells. Use the same business name you entered in Merchant Center.
- Check the store is open to visitors. If the online store still has a password page enabled, visitors and reviewers cannot see it. Remove the password before requesting a review.
- Compare the feed with the live store. If you sync products through a sales channel app, export the product data or check several products in Merchant Center and compare price, sale price and availability with the live product pages.
- Review apps that add claims. Countdown timers, fake scarcity notices, review widgets with unverifiable counts and trust badges you have not earned can make a store look misleading. Remove any that do not reflect something true.
Extra checks for dropshipping stores
- State realistic delivery times that include supplier processing time
- Give a returns address or a clear returns process, not only an email
- Make sure product photos and descriptions match what the supplier actually sends
- Name the business that sells to the customer, even if the goods ship from elsewhere
When a done-for-you pack helps
If you have filled in the pages above and still are not sure what the reviewer objected to, a page-by-page audit can find what you missed. For merchants on Shopify and other platforms, we review your public store pages, compare your site with your feed export, check contact and checkout trust signals, and send an exact fix list, a pre-review checklist and a drafted review request. You make the changes and submit the request yourself.
No subscription and no extra fees. Delivered by email within 24 hours of your order. Covers one store and one suspension notice.

Questions
Is the Shopify sales channel app the cause of the suspension?
Usually not on its own. The app sends your product data to Merchant Center, but the suspension is about what shoppers see on your store and whether it matches the feed. Check that the synced prices, availability and shipping settings agree with your live pages, then focus on the business details and policies on the site itself.
Can I use Shopify's generated policy templates?
You can start from them, but edit every template so it describes your own return window, refund method, shipping costs, regions and delivery times. Generic text that does not match how you actually operate can still look unclear to a reviewer. Shopify links policies in the checkout footer automatically, so also add them to your store footer menu.
Do I need a physical address on a Shopify store?
Showing a real business address and a direct contact method is one of the most common fixes for misrepresentation issues, because it tells shoppers who they are buying from. Use an address the business really operates from or receives mail at, and use the same business name and address in your Merchant Center business information.
