Store Suspension Fix Pack · Guide
What does the Merchant Center misrepresentation policy actually require from a store?
The misrepresentation policy is about honesty and transparency: shoppers should be able to tell who is selling, how to contact them, what they will pay and what happens if something goes wrong. In practice that means clear business identity, accurate product and price information, transparent billing and refund terms, and no offers or claims that mislead. It does not publish a single checklist, so you have to judge your store against those principles page by page.
How to read your store against the policy
- Read the policy page itself. Open the Misrepresentation policy in the Merchant Center Help Center and read it in full. Note each area it describes, such as business identity, misleading claims and unclear billing.
- Check business identity. Ask whether a stranger could find your business name, location and a way to reach you within a click or two of any page. If not, add them to the Contact page, About page and footer.
- Check product and price accuracy. Every price, discount and availability statement on the site should be true and should match what you send in your feed. Remove crossed-out prices that were never charged.
- Check billing and refund transparency. Make the total cost, including shipping and any taxes, visible before payment. If you sell subscriptions or recurring charges, state the amount and frequency clearly before checkout.
- Check for claims you cannot support. Look for statements about health benefits, awards, endorsements, stock levels or delivery speed that you cannot back up, and remove or correct them.
- Check what you leave out. The policy also covers withholding information shoppers need. Missing return terms, hidden fees or an unclear seller identity can count even if nothing on the page is false.
Some violations come with no warning
Google treats the unacceptable business practices part of the policy, such as presenting a false identity, business name or contact information, as egregious. For those, Google says the account can be suspended without prior warning and is only restored in compelling circumstances. Some other parts, such as unavailable offers, come with a warning at least 7 days before any suspension.
Where the policy is published
The misrepresentation policy is one of the Shopping policies in the Merchant Center Help Center. Read the current version there, because policies change and summaries on other sites, including this one, can go out of date.
When a done-for-you pack helps
Reading the policy is free, but applying it to your own pages takes time, and the suspension notice rarely names the page at fault. For merchants, we audit your public store against the misrepresentation and Shopping ads policies, compare your site with your feed export, and return an exact fix list with the page, the problem and the change to make, plus a pre-review checklist and a drafted review request.
No subscription and no extra fees. Delivered by email within 24 hours of your order. Covers one store and one suspension notice.

Questions
Is misrepresentation the same as selling fake products?
No. Counterfeit goods fall under a separate policy. Misrepresentation is broader and covers how the store presents itself: missing business details, misleading offers, unclear billing or refund terms, and claims that are not true. A store selling genuine products can still be suspended for misrepresentation if shoppers cannot tell who runs it or what they will pay.
Does the policy say exactly which pages I need?
The policy describes principles and examples rather than a fixed list of required pages. In practice, most merchants address it with a clear Contact page, an About page, a refund or returns page, a shipping page and terms, all linked from the footer, plus prices and availability that match the feed. Check the current Help Center text for specifics.
Can a review find new problems I did not fix?
Yes. A review looks at the store as it is when the reviewer checks it, so any remaining issue, not just the one you fixed, can lead to a rejection. That is why it is worth auditing every public page, product pages and checkout included, before you submit the request rather than fixing one item at a time.
