Store Suspension Fix Pack · Guide

Is there a way to check my store for misrepresentation issues myself?

There is no public tool that tells you exactly why a store was flagged for misrepresentation, and automated site checkers only catch a few issues. The most reliable check is a manual one: look at your store as a first-time shopper would and confirm the business identity, contact details, policies, prices and checkout are clear and match your feed.

A manual self-check you can run for free

  1. Use a private browser window. Open your store in a private window, as a visitor, so you see exactly what a visitor sees and not cached or admin views.
  2. Try to find who you are buying from. From the homepage, see how many clicks it takes to find the business name, a street address and a phone number or email. If it is more than two, or any are missing, note it.
  3. Read each policy as a customer. Open the refund, shipping, privacy and terms pages. For each, ask whether a customer would know the return window, who pays return shipping, delivery times and costs. Note anything vague.
  4. Compare five products with the feed. Pick five products from your Merchant Center product list and open each on the site. Check that the title, price, sale price, currency and availability are the same in both.
  5. Check the checkout total. Add a product to the cart and go to the payment step. Note whether shipping and taxes appear before payment and whether the final total matches what the product page suggested.
  6. List every claim on the homepage. Write down each claim such as free shipping, awards, ratings, money-back promises or limited stock. Mark any you cannot prove and remove or correct them.
  7. Turn notes into a fix list. For each note, write the page, the problem and the change. Fix them all, recheck in a private window, and only then request a review.

When a done-for-you pack helps

A self-check works well if you can look at your own store with fresh eyes. If you have stared at it too long, or a review has already been rejected, an outside audit helps. For merchants, we check your public pages against the misrepresentation and Shopping ads policies, compare your site with your feed export, check contact and checkout trust signals, and send an exact fix list, a pre-review checklist and a drafted review request.

Questions

Do online misrepresentation checker tools work?

They can catch simple things, such as a missing contact page or a site without HTTPS, but they cannot judge whether your policies are clear, whether your claims are true or whether your prices match your feed. Treat any automated result as a starting point and do the manual checks on this page before requesting a review.

Does Merchant Center show which page is the problem?

For misrepresentation, the notice names the policy and may give examples, but it rarely lists every page at fault, so you have to find the issues yourself. Product-level issues for prices or availability may point to specific items in the product list. Check both the account-level notice and any product issues, and fix everything you find before you request a review.

How often should I recheck my store after the suspension is lifted?

Recheck whenever you change your theme, add apps, change shipping or return terms or update prices in bulk, because those are the changes most likely to create new mismatches with your feed. A short repeat of the self-check on this page after each change is a simple way to catch problems before a reviewer does.
